Active citizenship is about people being actively and regularly involved in our democracy and contributing to the change they want to see for their communities. This can be at a local or national level or anywhere in between, and can range from informal community activities to formal involvement such as petitions, submissions, consultation or even advising government. But how well do people understand how to get involved? What would encourage more participation? If they do want to get involved, what are the barriers? And what information to they need to participate?
